Wings of Mercy operates with an all-volunteer team of pilots who lend their time, talent and often their planes to the cause. For safety, every flight requires two experienced, IFR-certified pilots and an approved aircraft for the trip. Since we often fly over the Great Lakes, many flights require twin engine planes and our single engines are larger models to accommodate two pilots and two passengers.
