Wings of Mercy remains committed to our mission during this time of national crisis. Currently, the response to the coronavirus is rapidly evolving with significant potential for travel restrictions and advisories. We stand with the CDC and urge everyone to stay at home if possible.
Unfortunately, there will still be those who must travel for medical care because they have no other choice. The threat of being infected with the coronavirus may leave more patients wondering if they will have access to critical treatments. For this reason, we want to offer our service directly to doctors and medical professionals. We will consider all requests for assistance, making decisions based on medical urgency with financial need being of secondary importance.
We have no idea what to expect in terms of the number of requests we may receive as this crisis unfolds. But our prayer is that if we are called to stand in the gap, we will be equipped and ready to act. Please pray for those battling cancer and other heartbreaking illnesses during a pandemic, pray for the safety of our pilots and medical professionals, for wisdom for our leaders, and, most of all, that we will know God is at work in these troubled times.
